The Business Marketing Association of New York (BMA|NY) commissioned me to do a design investigation for a proposed site re-design scheduled for 2003-2004. With their current site design not having been updated for several years, I began to investigate a concept and marketing approach that would help achieve the goals of the BMA|NY, to help expand their member's business expertise, grow professionally and network with others in the marketing community.
The direction chosen was one that represented the BMA|NY in a much more cleaner and stripped down graphic fashion with more of an emphasis on thought evoking catch phrases and member focused ad campaigns to help drive membership participation and enrollment in the regional chapter of the BMA. The site structure and navigation was also streamlined to allow for easy access to the organizations wealth of knowledge services, with content accessible to members via a proposed secured “Members Only” area where business resources such as on-line presentations, tool kits, surveys and a searchable member directory could be accessed to help further the business growth of their members.
A secondary color study was also presented where each of the site's sections would have its own secondary color theme complementing a primary color palette of white, silver and black.
